Why Custelium exists
Custelium draws on the Latin root of custody: to guard, to keep, to hold in trust. That is the role we take on for every territory we serve.
Territories are studied repeatedly and remembered poorly. Each programme commissions its own surveys, reaches its own conclusions and leaves little behind that the next programme can rely on. The knowledge exists, but it does not accumulate.
Custelium was founded in Sweden to hold that knowledge as an institution holds a register: constituted carefully, maintained continuously, and kept in the ownership of those who hold the land. The company works with open international standards so that a territory's record remains usable wherever its owner takes it.
The work is deliberately slow-moving. A record intended to serve across generations is judged by what it can still prove decades from now.
